New Update, New Features

Well, it has been a while since I’ve put out an update for the TVStatus application. I had a rather busy summer and working an internship but have been back in school for a while now and have some more time to work on my iPhone applications.

I submitted v1.3 of TVStatus to Apple for review on Thursday as well as an updated v1.1 of the TVStatus Free application. Be on the look out for these updates to hit the App Store sometime next week. Most of the changes are in the background to provide enhanced useability and lay a groundwork for upcoming features. Users with older devices like the iPhone 2G should notice significantly faster scrolling too. Finally, this new version brings calendar integration. It will now be possible to view upcoming episodes and information directly on your device’s calendar so you don’t ever miss an episode!

New Update and a Free Version

Hello TVStatus users!

We are proud to announce that a new update has been submitted to Apple for review! This version, v1.2, brings a couple new features as well as a number of stability enhancements. Users should experience quicker downloads of show information and posters. We have also fixed some small bugs that will help everything to run smoother and prevent the application from ever crashing.

In addition to the new update, a Free version of TVStatus will be submitted to Apple very soon. This free version will give users the ability to test out the application without having to buy it initially. The free version will be limited to 5 shows on the ‘My Shows’ list and will not have the additional features like TV news and upcoming schedules.

Downtime and New Updates

Unfortunately, our web host experienced a long period of downtime on Sunday, March 8th, 2009. This may have caused some issues with the TVStatus application today but it seems that our host has corrected problems and the application should be working properly now. As always, we are very sorry when issues like this occur since we strive to provide the best service possible and downtime is just problematic.

A new version of TVStatus was also release on February 21st, 2009. This version, v1.1, brought a number of new features to the application. Users can now choose an offset value to adjust the show times of the episodes to reflect the time zone they are in. Users can also select whether or not to turn on automatic updates which can cause the application to load quicker.

In addition to v1.1, an update was released this past week which brings the current version to 1.1.1. This minor update corrected a couple small bugs as well as added the option to select the background color and text color for the My Shows list. Users can now select from a variety of background colors in order to customize the application to their preferences.

New Update Available – v1.0.3

Our new update has been approved by Apple. This new update brings a couple of new features to the My Shows listing which allows you to view the information about the last episode of each show. This update also fixes a problem with the dates being calculated improperly due to a small bug in the iPhone’s software. Check out the iTunes App Store now to get the latest update or purchase a new copy!

Urgent Notice!

Just today we discovered a bug in the iPhone software which may be causing the TVStatus application to behave in strange ways. If all of your shows are appearing as “TBD” then rest assured, this problem is being taken care of. Unfortunately, the problem is with Apple’s code and so a bug report has been filed with them. This problem should resolve itself automatically at midnight on January 1st, 2009 since the problem lies with the calculation of the number of days until the next episode of a show.

We are very sorry for this problem and hope that this does not inconvenience you too much! Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions.

New Update Available

A new update, v1.0.2 is now available for the TVStatus application!
This update brings a number of new features to our application:

Posters now appear for each television show in the ‘My Shows’ list.
The My Shows list has undergone a redesign.
The user interface now scrolls faster and loads faster.
Users can also click on the Buy on Amazon Link on each show’s detail page to find relevant products on Amazon.com

Update In For Review

I have been hard at work on an update for TVStatus that brings a couple of new features and helps with a few small bugs. I submitted the update to Apple just this morning and hopefully the update will be reviewed and available sometime early next week. Expanded News Offerings

As a part of our desire to make TVStatus an application that is useful across the globe for the many millions of iPhone users, we have added a couple of new options to the “News” tab in the TVStatus application. Be sure to check out the faster, more thorough News option available for all users with the TVStatus application installed.

Stay tuned for more updates this weekend. The “Schedule” tab will be getting more complete listings for users in countries other than the United States.

UK Support and Updates

I have received a number of e-mails regarding support in the United Kingdom and across the globe. I just added support for about 1200 shows from the United Kingdom and hope to be adding more from Australia and Canada very soon! Anyone with the TVStatus application installed on their iPhone or iPod touch should now be able to add various shows from the United Kingdom to their ‘My Shows’ list. Go ahead and check out the complete Show List to see a list of all of the shows that are currently being tracked in our database.

Overall, the launch of the TVStatus application has gone very smoothly and we are pleased with the feedback that we have received! As always, if you have any difficulty or questions, don’t hesitate to contact us.
